JAMES, Cowan
Country: Scotland
State: Scotland ?
Date Submitted: February 8, 2004
Notes:
James emigrated to NYC from Scotland as a young man. He loved horses and may have been e rider in sweepstakes races, as time went on he , he cared for horses ( grooming ) and perhaps some traing . We are not certain about his jobs , only his way with the horses. He married a young Swedish immigrant, Named selma, Carolina Lynde , Sema returned to Heljarp ; Sweden to give birth to her first child, who was my great grandmother , Betty Sue Cowan. They reunited in New York City where there had three more children: Oscar , Marie , And Elsie. Betty Sue was born in 1894. She married in Massachusetts to a Civil Engineer, Armand Benoit, A Tufts College graduate. He was born in 1883 in Lawrence , Mass. most likely. I have more. But I am looking for any, any at all clues for James Cowan and Selma Lynde . what part of scotland did he come from and who were his parents? an did He race Blair Atholl ? what is the scoop on that family rumour . one find thousands of James Cowans in searches. Oh it is the biggwst of brick walls.
