CARPENTER, William Alfred
Country: USA
State: New Jersey, Wilmington, Delware or Phila
Date Submitted: February 21, 2004
Notes:
I have been searching for years for info on my ggrandfather William Alfred Carpenter. Born Circa 1853. Where he was born varies according to family members. New Jersey, Willmington, Delware, Philadephia.
According to his death certificate his father was John Carpenter an engine driver from New Jersey. No information on who his mother was.
William came to New Zealand on a whaling ship C1878, where he jumped ship.
I would love to complete his line in America, so if anyone has a "black sheep" in the family it may be my "William Alfred Carpenter".
I know this is like looking for a needle in a haystack, with nothing to go on, but I would love to hear from anyone who may have connections with the above or any info. Willing to share what I know.
Kind Regards Jeanette Burt New Zealand
