Lucas lived in Miami Co., Indiana, the son of James Adams and Elizabeth Unknown. Both of them was born in Kentucky. Lucas was born 1833 Indiana, married July 4, 1864 Margaret J. (Maggie) Gwinn Peru, Miami Co., Indiana. Served in the Civil War Feb 1865 to Sept 1865. Recieved Civil War pension, start date Jan 1881. Lived at Bunker Hill, Indiana at time of application. Move to Missouri where my great-grandmother, Sarah E. Adams was born, 16 Sept. 1867. Had sons: Hiram, b. 1866 Indiana; James W, b. 1870 Indiana. Believed to have found him in 1880 census with his brother James M. Adams in Maryville, Nodaway Co., Missouri but he is listed as Single. Can not find Maggie and children at all. Finally find Sarah in 1910 Oklahoma census. Hiram is in Caddo Co., Oklahoma in 1930 census. Where did Lucas died? Believe Oklahoma?? Lucas and Maggie are a major brick wall. Have no parents for Maggie. Think she was born 1844 Indiana.

Looking for info on Great Grandfather Ancil Adams b.1837 Roane Co. TN. and moved to Dickson Co. in 1852,d. in Obion Co.,TN. @1910-15.
Wife Sarah Jane Mathis Adams b. @1840 in Roane Co,TN and her family moved to Dickson Co in early 1850's.
Ancil was the third of 15 children of Nelson and Martha Angline Mathis Adams of Dickson Co., TN. They lived in the Yellow Creek area of Dickson County. Asa, Kinchen, William M., Stphen, Elizabeth "Betsy",Giles, James,Peter,Mary Catherine, just a few of the other children.
Ancil's Children: Martha E. b.1860, m. 1876 to Wm. Hargroves, Nancy Jane b.1863, m. 1880 to John K. Mathis. Mary Louisa b.1867, John William b.1869, m. Sally Wright, Kinchen M. b.1871,(John Kinch Adams, this is my Grandfather who changed his name for some unknown reason). Sally Ann b. 1874, d. 1948 Dyersburg, TN. Do not know her married name.
Ancil moved his family to Obion/Dyer Co. Tn. area. Grandfather moved his family after my Grandmother Alyce Bell Bills Adams died in 1917 to the western side of Fulton Co.,KY. in an area called Ashlog and Sassafras Ridge.
Lots of cousins still in Hickman,Ky. and Union City,TN. area. I have no info on Grandfather's sibling except John William. Grandfather's children: Vera, Clara, Curtis "Joe", Modie L. (my Dad), Viola, and Virgil. I have lots of info from my GF on down.
