Famous Family Trees - Ancestry of Adam West
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Before
he was widely-known as Batman, Adam West
enjoyed local celebrity in Hawaii
where he appeared
on a children's program. It was while supplementing
his income working as a tour guide that he caught the
attention of a
vacationing Hollywood agent who invited
him to screen test for Warner Bros.
Studios. After a
move to Hollywood and a few years of supporting roles,
Adam landed the role of Batman in the 1966 TV series.
After two very
successful seasons, the show was
canceled due to escalating costs and
flagging
ratings and typecasting considerably slowed Adam's
career.
Recently, however, he has appeared on
popular TV shows such as The Simpsons
and
Politically Incorrect.
